It is the time when I realised that I am not writing! I have a website and blog but I don’t use them. I know that I am not alone in this situation, however that should be changed. If I think that this blog will no longer be active, I should remove it.

The problem that I don’t also have the time to decide if I want to keep it or kick it. I have a free time, but I don’t think a lot about this special idea about the blog.

I want to keep the blog updated but I don’t think that writing everything in the blog is the correct thing to do. I need to prioritise my ideas to decide what to write about and what not to write about.

I will take my time to think about the feature of this blog as soon as I can ..

sorry because I did not write anything from a long time. I really do not know why I don’t have anything to talk about!

Okay, just to start writing again, now this blog is working with WP 2.5 and finally i take a time to update the blog and chose a new them for it.

The time is the most precious thing on our live. In my opinion it is more important that money. If you have a lot of money but you do not have time to spend this money then you are like the one who do not have any cent. If you have a lot of money but you do not have a time to sit down with your family for five minutes then you are working for this money and it take your time.

We do not care about the time until we find ourself in a situation that needs time to be solved. I usualy forget about the time until I find myself with some days until reaching the deadlines.

I try more than 100 times to use a plan and stick on it. Usually after week or two I forget about the plan and start to do my favorite action: PROCRASTINATION! I hate that. But I still do it!

Do you have anything can help me with my BIG problem! Thanks for sharing ..

Did you ever heard about the term web games? I start playing on one of the most famous games and its name is Travian. The Arabic servers is not so good as other languages severs but at least you can play.

The web games do not need for anything other than a web browser like Fire Fox or Internet explorer and you can start playing.  Because of that you can play it from anywhere and anytime even when you want to check your email on the university laps you can take a look on your web game account and do some actions.

I am addicted now to this game and I do not know what I will do if I lose the connection with the internet for two or more days.

I know. don’t be angry because I didn’t write anything for a long time ..

I don’t have to say why I didn’t write. but I can say what I am going to write about in this post.

I like programming. I like coding. But sometimes I don’t have the time and in other times I don’t have the mood to write any code. But I still like programming.

When you have time to read about this subject you may find that sometimes they differentiate between programming and coding. The Programming process as they say is the process where you think about the problem/project requirements and then develop a solution to meet the requirements.  where the coding is the process of write the code for a specific solution when you don’t have to think about the process of gathering any requirements because somebody else do that step.

Sorry, I don’t want to talk about technical stuff like that. I just want to let you know about some of my programming projects I have to do in the next months.

First of all, I have a very important project to do in next month and I hope I can do it. because I should do it from 6 months!

The second project is my coursework project using Java and Google WTK. I didn’t start yet. but I have around 15 days to do it. I hope I can finish it soon.

The third one is CMS script and I think I have the idea for it but need more time to plan for it. Maybe It will take me 3 months to do it because I done some important parts of it.

what about you? do you have any special projects to do next months?

If you are an IT guy please don’t shout on my face. It’s a book name: Does It matter? by Nicholas G. Carr.

He is talking about the IT and how some companies just implement the system because they think it will give them competitive advantage over other companies.
I don’t really start reading the book, but I am read some pages from it now. Also, I see Mr. Carr in on of the TV shows talking about his book. In some ideas I really agree with him. In others I should not agree because I am an IT guy and that what make me live .

If you want to read about the opposite viewpoint you should read this book.

I don’t choose my Dissertation topic yet and I have to wait until next month when our school will give us a list of topics to choose from.

The main problem I faced around is the problem of reading. yes, It’s reading. When I was doing my Bachelor I didn’t read a lot of books. Just read the slides for the any course and I can get around 80%. They don’t teach us how to write a good report or how we can use the library to search for information. They just want us to pass the exams and get our degree and that’s it.

You may hear a lot of talking about the Universities ranking and how our universities in the middle east weren’t on the first 500!!. When I read some articles that discuss why our universities weren’t on the first 500 I laugh. They are talking about the difference between the western countries and the eastern countries (That’s us). They say that in Arab countries we are focusing on teaching students rather than doing researches. And the ranking was not taking that into consideration! oh my god!! Do you want them to make standards for every university? or taking into consideration that our lecturers don’t really want to do any researches?

If the students like me. don’t get any course about how to write an Academic reports? how can that help us to improve our learning systems?

I am going to talk in this post about reading a lot of books and articles not related to my studies and can’t read the ones related to it!

yes, That’s true. when I visit any website I start reading without bothering my self about the time. maybe I read more than 5-10 articles without looking to the time. sometimes it take me around 1-2 hours and that’s okay with me because I don’t feel that I spend a lot amount of time reading.

but,,

When it comes to read some books and articles about my studies, I start counting the words, seconds and minutes. looking to the time every 30 seconds! taking a break for 5 minutes every 5 minutes. and so on..

Some of articles related to my studies are very interesting. I really like to read them in the past before they become part of my studies!

I try to do a lot to read more about my study and stop wasting the time. but when I wakeup on the morning and open the internet  browser, I start to write one of the websites have a lot of articles. and when I look to these articles I start to read them one after one. and this take around one to two hours a day.

E-mails is another story. because you have to read them and replay. and that take another one to two hours a day.

When you are abroad from your city. you may want to know about its news. so it will take you around one hour reading some articles and posts in your city website.

you may also find a good book at Amazon.com and you can’t wait to have this book. Just you order it and wait to receive it next week. oh my good I don’t have to visit amazon.com. I buy a lot of stuff from them.

So, do you have the same problem as me? or am I alone on this?

Today I am going to talk about system. It’s not an IT system. In this country everything work with the system.

for example, I went two week ago to register with a doctor. I finish the registration process but they did not gave me any information about my doctor and how can I call him and etc…

This week, I find a card in my mail box contains all information which I need about my doctor. my NHS number, the doctor number and a lot of information. It’s great !! they are working well to manage all of that.

Do you find yourself in a situation that university has changed the room of your lecture and you have to move between buildings to get the new room? and they did not tell you about that before?

This happened to me here! but how can they do that!!. Just when I returned home and checked my university email box. They sent an email before the lecture about the new location. Nowadays I check my email before went out to the lecture. YES they have a system and I know that they will tell us if they change the lecture to somewhere else.

Wait, It doesn’t mean that I live in a heaven now. But at least It’s better that how they manage something like that in Bahrain. Also, there are a lot of problems here. Maybe I will talk about them in my next posts.
